The salt marshes are spread over the centre of île de Noirmoutier. The salt farmers love to show you their profession and tell you all about it. They offer guided tours in the salt marshes in july and august. For more information we advice you to contact the Tourist Information Centre at île de Noirmoutier.

Walk along the water

Visit the salt marshes in a authentic way and enjoy a boat ride. In this unique way you will learn more about the salt production and the special flora and fauna associated with this environment.

Continue your visit by foot and follow the historical trail where salt marshes and bird nesting sites are next to each other.

You can even take some salt, the so called „Fleur du sel“, with you. A nice souvenir for yourself, or to offer to your friends or family.
